Meanwhile, Bukit Hara pan Administrator Audra Keyworth thanked the Society for coming forward to provide the children with an essential source of protein during these trying times. Earlier, the Society had given out a total of 3,000 milk powder packs to needy children from urban areas, 840 households, and rural communities in various parts of Sa bah under the first phase of its free milk project which began last December. These included Kota Kinabalu, Sembulan, Telipok, Menggatal, Tamparuli, Tuaran, Kota Belud, Matunggong, Kota Marudu and Paitan.

"Our free milk distribution is an ongoing exercise to bring relief to families impacted by the Covicl-19 pandemic. We initiated the project last December with the creation of the Project Hope Milk Fund. We thank all donors who have donated generously to our cause.

"We are trying to raise more aid for our Project Hope Milk Fund so that we can begin to stock up on milk powder to be distributed to many more children out there. Our mission here is to reduce food insecurity among the hard-core poor in Sabah," said Hadikusumo who disclosed that the Society has just launched its Project Hope School Fund to raise aid for school supplies.

"It can be difficult for most of us to imagine how the most basic exercise books and stationery are considered luxury items when food is scarce. With the Project Hope Milk and School Funds, we hope to provide for both the mental and physical needs of the children in this state.

"I know it is a really difficult time for everyone now, which is why we are very grateful for any help the public can give. If any company or employer has a corporate social responsibility (ICSR) mission, we would love for them to consider our mission and adopt it for themselves," the President enthused.
